At one point, we tried all ways on how to find completely acne-free. Here are some natural and unnatural treatments for acne that proved effective.

1. Witch Hazel Astringent
This pie comes from the factory with the same name. It is widely distributed from Nova Scotia in Canada down to Texas and Florida. Simply steam the twigs of this plant and voila! The extract you get from it serves as an astringent. Do not forget to cool though. What is good is that it occurs naturally and even the process it has undergone is all natural. 4. Oral Antibiotics
In severe cases, antibiotics are prescribed. These drugs are taken orally to reduce the amount of bacteria in and around skin follicles. Usually, the starting dose is 500 mg twice a day initially and continues to take prescribed, or until a considerable drop of visible lesions.

Erythromycin is close second and can be prescribed to pregnant women. However, it can cause nausea and even upset stomach. Compared to tetracycline, which can only kill bacteria, Erythromycin has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. In addition, this antibiotic should be taken in a belly full of food. You may discuss other possible antibiotics with your doctor about the effects and side effects of each.

5. Topical Treatments
