Freeletics Friday - Mystery Transformation

Hello everyone.

I am very excited to share with you our very first Freeletics Mystery Transformation athlete. One of my readers has just commenced her first week of Freeletics. We will take you on a journey over the next 15 weeks (and yes I too will appear with my own Freeletics results) however this is all about you and how you too can change your lifestyle around and lead a healthier and fit life.

Let me introduce you to this amazing Mother of 2, ages 6 and 4. She has totally embraced the Freeletics program and would like to share that even ordinary people can make a change if they really set their mind to it. Remember that motto MIND over MATTER. If you truly want it, you are the only person that can make that change.

Here are some questions I asked our Mystery Freeletics athlete about how Week 1 went;

What's your overall thoughts on the Freeletics program and did you survive Week 1?

I can't tell you how many burpees I have done during week one of Freeletics...the hardest excercise ever... but at the same time the best excercise ever! Who said that getting results was meant to be easy?
The eating has been good, although it is hard seeming it is the silly season! The nutrition does not seem to be restrictive, just a few ideas and tips on what to incorporate at all meals.

All in all a good week! Next week may be harder... but I am looking forward to more burpees ;)

What is the biggest challenge you faced this week? How did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge this week was to actually do the max tests. It was very daunting the thought of performing 300 secs worth of burpees. I think that is what can stop people, how daunting some tasks may seem. I just thought to myself, just do it and in 300 secs you will know if it was that bad.... so I just did it.  It was hard but I felt great at the end of it, I didn't think I could do 300 secs of Burpees.

What made you decide it was time to make a change?

I recently went away on a holiday and didn't feel as comfortable in my skin as I should. I am a fit person but I am not toned and I don't eat as healthy as I could. I needed to do something about that. I want to look as good as I feel, in a sense that I feel fit but when I look in the mirror I get disgruntled that I don't look as fit as I feel. I want to feel good and see my strength.

Why did you choose Freeletics over the hundreds of other options?

I saw Dani talking about Freeletics on her website and I just loved the idea of being able to log into a website off my Ipad or phone and do my exercise. With working and 2 kids, I sometimes don't have time for me until 8:30 at night, with freeletics, I can just log on and do it anywhere in the house or on the road if I am away for work. I love the freedom it presents to me.

How long do the workouts take you and are they difficult?

It's hard work! The Freeletics session takes between 15-20mins and I try to beat my time each session. As I mentioned above, nothing good ever comes easy and I haven't been exercising for a while so I guess my body just needs to condition itself.

What are you eating?

Eggs for breakfast, meat and carbs for lunch, meat and vegetables for dinner! The nutrition guide is brilliant so many beautiful meals to choose from.

What motivates you to exercise regularly and where do you workout?

My motivation comes from the ease of just picking up my ipad and doing it wherever and whenever I can... at home before the kids get up, before kids go to bed or even with the kids outside.  It's so versatile there is no excuse.

What equipment do you use for training and what do you love most about it?

I use my workout mat, take a drink bottle, iPad and a towel. The other equipment I use is just my body weight so there is no unnecessary fitness gadgets used to do this program. I love it! Especially connoting with other Freeletics athletes all across the world. Even my husband is thinking of doing the program, which will be great motivation for us both.

Thank you so so much for your first weeks insight into Freeletics. I can't wait to see how you go next week!

So lets do this! For those that wish to join us at Freeletics please click here or see my Fitness tab here for my transformations thus far. You can also purchase your nutritional guide for those that need help with what foods to eat, I highly recommend it. Both myself and our mystery Freeletics athlete are doing the 15 week cardio based program. There are 3 programs to choose from. My brother and husband are doing both the strength and cardio based program and they too are keen to share their transformations over the coming weeks.

Are you in?

Please list any questions you may have below and I look forward to seeing you all in Freeletics land!!!

Fitness Transformation Tuesday with The Raw Boy

It never ceases to amaze me all these phenomenal transformations I receive all across the globe. It totally blows me away and I absolutely love sharing each and every story with you on Transformation Tuesday.

The raw boy is no different. His transformation came about from a car accident that changed his life about a year ago. He took the opportunity to change his life around and started doing something new with it. Today he is a raw vegan. (like my amazing friend from Fully Raw, check out the interview I did with Kristina here and our Stand Up And Be Rawesome challenge in April 2013). Super cool.

Without further adeui here is Neto's story.

The Raw Boy shares his transformation with Fitness Food And Style

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I am 22 years old and I am raw vegan. I have lost 55kg (in 3 months), clear my cystic acne more than 90% and have cured my constipation. I am also now able to run 6-9 mi everyday. It will be a year this january as vegan/raw vegan.

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
Growing up I always ate tons of fruits and vegetables but as a young adult I was a heavy eater of junk food. Eating about more than 3 fast food meals everyday. I now eat only veggies and fruits in their raw state, no processed foods, salts, oils or anything that comes from an animal.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I don't play any sports but I do run every day on my own and I enjoy watching soccer.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
I love to read and travel and I am very passionate about learning from another cultures. Seeing a smile on the face of a stranger or someone I just got the privilege to help puts the best smile on my face. There's no better satisfaction than helping someone else.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
I had a car accident a year ago that changed my life for good. After the accident I decided to change my life around and decided that by loosing weight I could help my self feel a little more better about myself, but I never intended on going raw vegan or even caring about my health I just wanted to lose weight. Now my health is on my top priorities.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
I wish to cure my Rosacea for good, Rosacea is a chronic skin diseases that affects your skin with redness. Start growing my own produce (fruits and veggies) and start working on my master degree program.

Rosacea before and after becoming a raw vegan

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
There's always one question I always ask myself:

1). Are you really happy with what you are doing, is it really worth it? If not make a change, because finding oneself is the task of a life time. 3 tips/elements I considered essential to a healthier lifestyle are: Hydration, Exercise, and sleeping are key to living a healthier life.

Thank you so much Neto for sharing your amazing story with us, you look amazing and I am so happy to see you have healed most of your ailments. You can follow Neto's heathy journey on his Instagram @therawboy, Twitter and Facebook page.

For those wishing to share their story please fill out our questions here and I can't wait to feature you!!

Weight loss story on Transformation Tuesday with Mission Fit Chick

Here is the beautiful Mission Fit Chick, what an inspiration she is. She is a mother, wife, dreamer, doer and a corporate career woman. She grew up thinking that food was love until she changed that around and made food her fuel.

Here is her story.....

  • I am a career woman, wife, and mother of two who put everyone before myself which led to me being the "skinny chick trapped in a fat body". I've failed at so many attempts of losing weight which caused me to gain the weight back and more. I am turning those failures into something positive and learning what REALISTICALLY works for me. I now am finally doing it the right way by learning about nutrition, eating clean, making it a routine to workout and find activities I enjoy, and making myself a priority. I truly believe that if you take care of yourself, you are happier and can be an even better mother, employee, wife, person. I have been on my journey for 10 months now. My progress has been slower than usual but I am okay with that because this is a lifestyle change.
  • As a child, I grew up with the perception that "food is love". If you didn't eat enough, you weren't well taken care of. I had to finish everything on my plate otherwise I was "wasting food", so I never was aware of when my body was satisfied. Food was social and food became comfort. Food then became my enemy... It is still a struggle because I am an emotional eater, but I am learning that food is not love and comfort. Food is fuel. Food is nourishment for our bodies.
  • Not much into sports, except for working out! I do bootcamp, Zumba, lift weights and wog "walk and jog".
  • Family. Design. Creativity. Good Food. Fashion. Surrounding myself with fellow Passionate People.
  • I am an over achiever. I achieve in anything I put my mind to, but for some reason weight was always a failure. I could never achieve at weight loss. I was in an emotional state where I was smiling on the outside but sad on the inside. I knew I needed to do something about my weight when it started taking over my life. And after educating myself about nutrition, it certainly has opened my eyes of how I was slowly killing myself with food. I refuse to shorten my life and my children's lives because of food. That is when I made my lifestyle change.
  • To continue to be more knowledgeable in nutrition and to continue to live a healthy lifestyle, hopefully someday meeting my health and fitness goals. I have a long way to go. I also have amazing followers on Instagram that I hope to continue to inspire and be inspired.
  • Self love people! YOU have every right to be happy and take care of yourself. Educate yourself about nutrition. Knowledge is power. Open up an anonymous Instagram account to document your weightloss journey and also gain inspiration from others. Follow me @missionfitchick. It is also SO liberating because you can just be yourself without the pressures of people who know you in real life :)
  • Thank you so much for sharing your new healthy lifestyle with us. For those that wish to follow mission chick her Instagram name is @missionfitchick
  • Much love and friendship,
  • XxDani

You all know how much I am loving the Freeletics program. Week 4 has started for me and I am loving the new workout challenges. However I did miss out on week 3 as I was totally exhausted from my Sydney Ride To Conquer Cancer. I'm having some hip tendon issues, so seeing a chiro this week.

There are some of us that want to lose the weight but there are those that simply need to maintain what they have. Dennis has always been an athletic kinda guy and played soccer but he WANTED MORE. Take a look at his 15 week Freeletics transformation.

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?

As kid I used to eat very healthy food. I had always good meat, vegetables, salad and healthy carbs. As young adult (when I started to live alone) I ate a lot of fast-food. After my skin problems I changed my kind of food completely again. Only healthy food - completely.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I play soccer and watch soccer.. Don't watch that often TV.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
I'm very interested in the new sport called Freeletics.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
My psoriasis changed my life completely.. I never had problems with my weight, my skin, my self-confidence or other things. This diagnostic and complaint changed my life. I had to do anything.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
I want to keep my discpline up and want to achieve a lot of Freeletics-workouts and challenges.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
Eat healty.
Never give up or quit.
Try to train with some one.
Sleep enough.
Keep in mind that you are doing this for yourself - you want to be better than the average.

Weight loss story on Transformation Tuesday with Miriam

This is such a moving story. You know when they say you get a wake up call in life? You need to read this amazing transformation from Miriam. She is now a mother of 2 beautiful children and shares with us today how she made the choice to start living a healthy lifestyle.

Transformation Tuesday with Fitness Food and Style

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I am 26 years old. My Transformation is quite unique. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I have always had a love for fitness but never could get anywhere. I would lose a few pounds then gain them all back.
I then hit another challenge in my life. In 2003 I was a passenger in a terrible vehicle accident that left me in ICU. The vehicle rolled over 9 times going 90mph. It left me with a broken pelvis, fractured hip, broken tailbone, elacerated liver and a placenta abruption. I was 6months pregnant with my first child. They had to take him Via Emergency C-section because i was dying from internal damage. He was 3 months early and weighed only 3lbs 9oz. Now he is 9 years old and is PERFECT!! ;)
Doctors told me that the chances of my body fully recovering was slim to none. It took me almost 2 years of Physical Therapy 3 times a week and pain Management therapy but I began healing..

I have always been physically and mentally strong but I still struggled with my weight very bad. It wasn't until a year and a half ago (18) months) after I had my **2nd Child**
I finally learned the importance of eating clean and it has completely transformed me entirely. I have now dropped more than 60lbs (30kgs). I workout 7 days a week. I now love to lift. I know the importance of building muscle and Training Hard!
I have been faced with many challenges but they've made me who I am today ;)

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
I grew up in the country so we are lots of Healthy foods but we also are lots of processed foods as well.

Now I eat clean.. I try and stay away from heavy processed foods.. I try to eat foods that are all natural. My body is thanking me for it.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I don't watch any sports really. I love playing volleyball, basketball, lifting weights, working out and staying active. Being outside running around with my kiddos.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
I absolutely LOVE health and nutrition!! I want to help motivate and inspire others. My  "Littles "(children) make me smile as well as my wonderful Husband.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
I was so sick and tired of being Sick and Tired.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
To inspire and help motivate as many people as I possibly can! To show others that it's possible!

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
I never restrict myself of anything ENTIRELY! If I want it. I'll eat it. BUT I have to earn it first!

Weight loss story Transformation Tuesday with Samer Delgado

I love it when my male readers share their new lifestyle changes. Here is Samer who recognised his poor lifestyle choices and has done something to change it for the better.

Have a read of his story.....

Weight loss and healthy lifestyle story with Samer Delgado

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?

I am 28 years old. I started my fitness journey february 2011 when I realized I was throwing my life away by smoking a whole pack of cigarets a day while seating at home watching the days go by and eating fast food. I had to do something so I quit cigarets cold turkey and joined the gym. Now this is my lifestyle and my job.

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?

I use to eat anything hat wasn't healthy. I hated vegetables and anything else that was good for the body. I loved fry foods, Chinese food, pizza, bacon, fast food.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?

I play volleyball, baseball, basketball and I am a bar athlete. When I was a kid I did swimming, water polo, diving, and rollerblading.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?

My biggest interest and passion in live is fitness. When I found fitness I feel like I found me. I'm also a father to two beautiful girls 9 and 7 and I am devoted to my children. I try to make fitness fun for them so that they can too be future healthy and fit adults.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?

The biggest thing that made me take on this lifestyle was probably the fact that I was becoming a horrible example for my kids. I also felt like I had no purpose in life anymore. I lived a boring and dry life. That all changed when I took on fitness.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?

Over the next year I hope to trai with some of my biggest inspirations like the guys from barstarzz and my other mentors from California. I also want to take my Personal Training career to the next level by opening my own training studio.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?

The biggest thing to remember when it comes to transforming your life and body is that it isn't by any means easy or fast. U shouldn't rush the process. Live it and enjoy it.
