Friday Fitness with our Mystery Freeletics Athlete - Week 8

Where are the weeks going? 8 weeks already? Really? We are just over the half way mark and I think our mystery Freeletics athlete is doing a mighty fabulous job. Someone made a comment that they didn't see much progress in her pictures, little did they read how she has changed her lifestyle around and living more healthier and making a conscious effort to incorporate regular exercise within her week supported by great food. That deserves a 10 outta 10 in my book! You go girl, I am so proud of you.

See you again next week!
xxDani

Weekly journal update

Freeletics week 8

This week I feel I needed a big kick to keep me going.  I loved the exercises but I was feeling a little sluggish and felt like I needed to cleanse my insides!  So I added a 3 day juice cleanse to my program.  I must say the first day was ok, the second I could have eaten my arm off and the third has been great.  I thought I would lose my energy and wouldn’t be able to do my freeletics but I actually have just as much energy. Now that is over I feel great and I am looking forward to getting back to the eating guidelines from Freeletics.

I can see my hips shrinking in the pics and I love it. My motivation for next week is seeing my hips in these pictures.  You can see that the layer of fat on them is slowly shrinking. I will always have hips, I just want to get rid of the fat layer on them! I do want to tone my stomach more as I feel that those images are hard to see any changes.  I wonder if there has been so much stretching from 2 kids and lots of excess weight that I will never get it toned and smooth again. I am not stressing over that, but it would be nice!

Food Diary:

Breakfast
Chia pudding with a piece of fruit

Morning snack
Yogurt with fruit & nuts

Lunch
Tuna salad

Afternoon snack
Banana and tea

Dinner
Grilled salmon with blueberry pear salad

Hard parts this week:

Adding the juice detox and just juicing for 3 days, that was HARD! I love my food so it was hard to not eat, especially when I am making yummy meals for my kids and husband! Freeletics workouts were great this week.

Love FMA (Freeletics Mystery Athlete) xx

Freeletics Friday with our Mystery Transformation Athlete Weeks 6 & 7

She's back!!!

Even our Freeletics mystery athlete didn't let her ankle let her down, she persisted and she shares her journal with us for the last few weeks she missed. So we are playing a bit of catch up hence 2 weeks in the 1 post today.

Please show her some support by leaving words of encouragement, it's a tough gig being out there in the world wide web and having us cheer her along keeps her so motivated.

Thanks for sharing and we look forward to reading from you next week!

xxDani

Freeletics Week 6

So…. This week I fell off the bandwagon… well actually I think I jumped off it whole heartedly!  I was tempted by everything and because I felt like I had been good then I deserved to slack off and eat what I wanted and drink what I wanted. Just take a look at my pics, I think that you can tell. I am embedding this feeling into my mind.  It’s the feeling of disappointment.  I am disappointed in myself for giving in. Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time eating and drinking and playing up with my mates.  However my body didn’t appreciate it.  I feel sluggish and guilty.  I don’t like those feelings so back on the band wagon next week, actually squat jumping back onto that bandwagon!

Hard parts this week:

All of it!  I just didn’t make time to prep meals or exercise so I went back to my old ways of quick and easy food and not as much exercise as I would have liked. I blame my injured ankle for playing a part in my social and party week this week. Oops!

Freeletics Week 7

Bandwagon going along full steam ahead! I have been really good this week, I have been having salad plus protein most days and nights. One night I made a delicious couscous with almonds sprinkled through it.  That was delicious! On the exercise front, there have been less burpees this week and I think that has helped motivate me to do the exercises. The pics this week show a slight improvement over last week. My hips are where I am really seeing the difference. My muffin top is slowly melting away.

Hard parts this week:

Actually nothing!  I was really motivated this week, I am wondering if my slack week last week was what I needed to get me back on track?

Freeletics Friday with our mystery transformation athlete W1-W5

Week 5, only 10 more weeks to go. The pressure is on and yet our Freeletics mystery athlete is still checking in with us every week.
She has decided to do a Dear Diary entry this week. Leave your comments below with words of encouragement as I seriously think she is amazing keeping up this fit lifestyle.
Until next week,
xxDani

Freeletics Week 1 versus Week 5

"What do you see?  When I look at the pictures I see the same me, with slightly more defined abs and waist, however I don’t see the muscle that I feel in my legs or the six pack I feel under that stomach fat.  I know that weight loss can be a wait and slow progress but some weeks I feel like I see no progress, although I can feel it.  Do you guys feel like this when taking on a new challenge? When this happens I feel like I need to shake it up a little.  These past few weeks I have been training hard and eating reasonably well but I have been treating myself with wine at all these social occasions. So I think that this week in order to see a bigger change I am going to take the week of alcohol. All those extra calories in my glass of wine are all that I see when I look at my tummy in these pictures!  Wish me luck and I hope to show you the results next week!"

Hardest Part of the week?

Jackknifes are just killing me this week… they hurt and my tummy is feeling tighter for them but when I am actually doing them they are HARD.

Food vs Exercise?
Exercise this week… it has been extremely HOT this week…beyond my comfort level with no aircon so I have had to try workout at 10 at night which is when I am ready for bed!
Tip for the week
No carbs on non training days… makes sense… hard to do when it is so hot and I skipped a few training sessions!

Freeletics on Friday with our Mystery Transformation W1-W4

Here's our amazing Freeletics mystery athlete checking in. How fabulous to have this lady committed to this program 4 weeks in a row! Especially over the festive period. You rock!

What workouts did you do this week?
This week was much the same as last week, burpees, squats, froggies etc but it feels good to be able to do them quicker. I am scared looking at next week's sessions as it is all new stuff which my body might go into shock about... who would have thought I would say that I think my body is getting used to burpees. I actually saw a drink bottle the other day saying "I love burpees". I was going to get it!
What are you eating ?
This week I started back at work after the summer break and it was hard to keep on track with eating.  I know it should be easier but it meant that I had to actually get up and get going and make sure I was prepared.  I started making smoothies for breakfast then having a salad and some form of protein for lunch. I found this lovely smoked chicken breast which I have been chopping up in my lunches.

What's motivated you this week to exercise regularly and where have you been working out?
You guys motivated me!!  I saw the comments on the FFS progress pics posted last week and that has been my motivation to keep on track this week. I have been working out at home in the backyard or in the bedroom.  The benefit with these workouts is that they can be done anywhere so you don't need much room, therefore the end of the bed is sometimes my gym!

What was the hardest thing you found this week with exercise and nutrition?
Nutrition is going to be my killer I think!  It always has been so when someone offers me something it is hard to say no.  I also need to be prepared and organised, which can be hard for me!

Friday Freeletics - Mystery Transformation WEEK 3

WOW!!! 3 weeks! Time sure flies. Let's see how our mystery transformation Freeletics athlete is going this week.

She wrote to me saying you may not see a huge difference but she has measured herself and has lost over 2cms!!! She is pumped! I personally can see those love handles melting away too honey ;-)

Week 1 versus Week 3

How long are the workouts taking you? Are they difficult or are you getting stronger?
Oh my gosh this week was a killer for the workouts.  I did one called Atlas and it nearly killed me.  I seriously had sweat dripping off me after having to do the burpees, the froggie and the deep squats.  So this week I can safely say that the workouts are getting harder!

What workouts did you do this week?
This week I got to do Aphrodite, burpee max, and ApolloN.  Oh and how can I forget the Atlas.  There have been squats, burpees, runs and leg raises and I am feeling great for it. I feel stronger in my legs and squats are feeling really good.

What are you eating and how did you go with New Years?
I went really well with food this week.  The past week I felt icky and slow in my workouts on the days that I had chosen to eat whatever I wanted.  This week I got back on track omelette's and swiss muesli for breakfast. Salad's with meat for lunch and meat and veg for dinner. I also made a yummy juice out of beetroot, carrot, apple and ginger as a refreshing snack.

New Year's was hard but I had a few Gin and Diet tonics to try not increase the intake of calories plus I only had a few because I had the kids to get up to in the morning.  All in all a good week... Next week will be even better with out all this temptation!!

What's motivated you this week to exercise regularly and where have you been working out? This week I have been motivated by progress.  You might not be able to see the progress in my pics, but I have lost 2 cm on the stomach and 1cm on each thigh.  I am so happy with the progress!  Honestly it feels so good to see the progress that eating right and being consistent with my exercise can bring.  I can't wait for next week because I really think we will see a lot of progress in the pics.

What was the hardest thing you found this week with exercise and nutrition?
Nutrition... again! When we were doing a big road trip I found a salad sandwich which was better than the sausage rolls or Maccas option!

AMAZING effort!!! Keep up the fab work.

Freeletics on a Friday with our Mystery Free Athlete

WOW! What a week, how did you survive Christmas? I know personally my belly is bloated and I really didn't make too many healthy choices but hey! today is a brand new day right?

Having said that lets not delay with our Freeletics Athlete, let's see how week 2 went for her including all the Christmas temptations....

Week 1 vs Week 2

How long are the workouts taking you? Are they difficult or are you getting stronger?

I am loving the workouts this week and I am getting quicker. It's awesome to see the time of all your workouts and to see if you are beating it, it's good motivation and I get a kick out of beating my time. It may not be the fastest... but it's my time and my journey!

I think I am getting stronger with the burpees because I can get lower to the ground when I jump my feet out. I am sure it will get harder but this week has helped me build my confidence that my body can actually do this!

What workouts did you do this week?

I did a lot of aphrodite workouts and burpee max ones. Check out the website for the details as you can sign up for that one for free.

What are you eating and how did you cope with all the Christmas festivity foods and drinks?

I love the freeletics nutrition guide as it gives you direction on how to eat well. I am incorporating protein into my meals based on the advice they give you. I have had a lot of salads because it is so hot! Christmas was hard but I gave myself 2 days to have drinks and treats. You have gotta live, but now I am back on track!

Here's how simple my breakfast is, scrambled eggs with spinach and cherry tomatoes. Done in 5 minutes! Super tasty.

What's motivated you this week to exercise regularly and where have you been working out?

The motivation for me this week has been SUMMER!! It is hot and I am bearing more skin so I need to tone up. The benefit of it being so hot is that I have been doing my workouts outside! It is so nice, I have even done sone barefoot to feel the grass on my feet. So refreshing!

What was the hardest thing you found this week with exercise and nutrition?

The hardest thing this week has been temptation. So much yummy food, chocolates, wine. It has been soooo hard! That is why I gave myself 2 days off. I didn't want to feel guilty for eating the food but I also didn't want to ruin my excercise! So 2 days was my compromise and I feel better for it!

***

Thank you to our beautiful Freeletics athlete for sharing her journey with us this week. It takes a lot of guts and determination  to share this kind of transformation with the world every week. No pressure!!! ;-) Keep up the terrific work!

Freeletics Friday - Mystery Transformation

Hello everyone.

I am very excited to share with you our very first Freeletics Mystery Transformation athlete. One of my readers has just commenced her first week of Freeletics. We will take you on a journey over the next 15 weeks (and yes I too will appear with my own Freeletics results) however this is all about you and how you too can change your lifestyle around and lead a healthier and fit life.

Let me introduce you to this amazing Mother of 2, ages 6 and 4. She has totally embraced the Freeletics program and would like to share that even ordinary people can make a change if they really set their mind to it. Remember that motto MIND over MATTER. If you truly want it, you are the only person that can make that change.

Here are some questions I asked our Mystery Freeletics athlete about how Week 1 went;

What's your overall thoughts on the Freeletics program and did you survive Week 1?

I can't tell you how many burpees I have done during week one of Freeletics...the hardest excercise ever... but at the same time the best excercise ever! Who said that getting results was meant to be easy?
The eating has been good, although it is hard seeming it is the silly season! The nutrition does not seem to be restrictive, just a few ideas and tips on what to incorporate at all meals.

All in all a good week! Next week may be harder... but I am looking forward to more burpees ;)

What is the biggest challenge you faced this week? How did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge this week was to actually do the max tests. It was very daunting the thought of performing 300 secs worth of burpees. I think that is what can stop people, how daunting some tasks may seem. I just thought to myself, just do it and in 300 secs you will know if it was that bad.... so I just did it.  It was hard but I felt great at the end of it, I didn't think I could do 300 secs of Burpees.

What made you decide it was time to make a change?

I recently went away on a holiday and didn't feel as comfortable in my skin as I should. I am a fit person but I am not toned and I don't eat as healthy as I could. I needed to do something about that. I want to look as good as I feel, in a sense that I feel fit but when I look in the mirror I get disgruntled that I don't look as fit as I feel. I want to feel good and see my strength.

Why did you choose Freeletics over the hundreds of other options?

I saw Dani talking about Freeletics on her website and I just loved the idea of being able to log into a website off my Ipad or phone and do my exercise. With working and 2 kids, I sometimes don't have time for me until 8:30 at night, with freeletics, I can just log on and do it anywhere in the house or on the road if I am away for work. I love the freedom it presents to me.

How long do the workouts take you and are they difficult?

It's hard work! The Freeletics session takes between 15-20mins and I try to beat my time each session. As I mentioned above, nothing good ever comes easy and I haven't been exercising for a while so I guess my body just needs to condition itself.

What are you eating?

Eggs for breakfast, meat and carbs for lunch, meat and vegetables for dinner! The nutrition guide is brilliant so many beautiful meals to choose from.

What motivates you to exercise regularly and where do you workout?

My motivation comes from the ease of just picking up my ipad and doing it wherever and whenever I can... at home before the kids get up, before kids go to bed or even with the kids outside.  It's so versatile there is no excuse.

What equipment do you use for training and what do you love most about it?

I use my workout mat, take a drink bottle, iPad and a towel. The other equipment I use is just my body weight so there is no unnecessary fitness gadgets used to do this program. I love it! Especially connoting with other Freeletics athletes all across the world. Even my husband is thinking of doing the program, which will be great motivation for us both.

* * *

Thank you so so much for your first weeks insight into Freeletics. I can't wait to see how you go next week!

So lets do this! For those that wish to join us at Freeletics please click here or see my Fitness tab here for my transformations thus far. You can also purchase your nutritional guide for those that need help with what foods to eat, I highly recommend it. Both myself and our mystery Freeletics athlete are doing the 15 week cardio based program. There are 3 programs to choose from. My brother and husband are doing both the strength and cardio based program and they too are keen to share their transformations over the coming weeks.

Are you in?

Please list any questions you may have below and I look forward to seeing you all in Freeletics land!!!

Much love and friendship,

Workout Wednesday and getting organised with IKEA

Hello everyone, what a day!

Mine started off with these babies. Banana pancakes with coconut butter. How good! We had so many ripe bananas that I simply placed them into a blender and added eggs. You typically add 2 eggs to every banana. For more flavour you can add some lemon zest, vanilla essence, cacao powder and/or cinnamon.

Banana pancakes

The girls loved the banana version and I added cacao (and some almond meal) to some of the boys pancake mixture. The almond meal makes the cooking texture thicker (as the banana and egg mixture is a very delicate process, something I didn't really have too much time doing this morning) so they were a lot easier and quicker to flip!

Banana and Loving Earth coconut pancakes

Getting Organised with IKEA

After school drop off we headed over to IKEA to meet with my girlfriend who is helping me get more organised!!! Managing a household of 6 people can be pretty challenging and recently I have missed a lot of things in this house, so my goal is to get more cupboard space and make a study/creative room for the kids. I'm loving these BestÃ¥ Storage Solution above cupboards and then desk space for the kids to be creative and do their homework.

How organised are you?

Talking about being organised, I have another birthday party to organise!!! Sheesh!! It's the never ending party house here at The Stevens household! Whoop! Whoop! Whoop! I love it! Our little Oscar turns 6 and he has requested a pool party, so what better theme to have than a Hawaii Tropicana one :-)

But I need your help please. Give me some of your ideas or if you have Pinterest please feel free to pin them on my KIDS PARTY IDEAS. So far I have had people suggest fruit kebabs, Hawaiin pizza's, banana leaves as plates, dive to catch the plastic Hawaiian doll or dolphin.

What are some of your Hawaiian party theme suggestions?

Fitness

I know we all lead busy lives but please try and make time for your fitness. This workout took me a total of 7 minutes and 12 seconds. No gym required, workout in the comfort of your own home using your own body weight. There were 3 rounds of burpees, mountain climbers and high jumps.

Do yourself a favour and grab your Freeletics workout HERE. I have the cardio program and my husband is doing the cardio & strength program. So for those that need their partners to keep them on track and motivated, these programs are a perfect team workout!

Can you make time for your fitness? From 7 minutes to 30 minutes, that's all this takes.

Freeletics workout at home with no gym equipment, just your own body weight

I hope you are having a sensational week, the days are just flying aren't they? I have been invited to the Ballarat in Bloom luncheon on Friday and the Angelsea Big4 Holiday park this long weekend, to experience and explore the scenic Great Ocean Road in Anglesea. Busy busy days ahead.

More pics to follow. Stay tuned.

Much love and friendship,
XxDani

Weight loss story on Transformation Tuesdays with Dennis Börschig

You all know how much I am loving the Freeletics program. Week 4 has started for me and I am loving the new workout challenges. However I did miss out on week 3 as I was totally exhausted from my Sydney Ride To Conquer Cancer. I'm having some hip tendon issues, so seeing a chiro this week.

There are some of us that want to lose the weight but there are those that simply need to maintain what they have. Dennis has always been an athletic kinda guy and played soccer but he WANTED MORE. Take a look at his 15 week Freeletics transformation.

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I'm 27 years old, played soccer for 24 years now. Went to the gym 1-2 times a week. Started Freeletics 17 weeks ago with great results.

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
As kid I used to eat very healthy food. I had always good meat, vegetables, salad and healthy carbs. As young adult (when I started to live alone) I ate a lot of fast-food. After my skin problems I changed my kind of food completely again. Only healthy food - completely.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I play soccer and watch soccer.. Don't watch that often TV.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
I'm very interested in the new sport called Freeletics.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
My psoriasis changed my life completely.. I never had problems with my weight, my skin, my self-confidence or other things. This diagnostic and complaint changed my life. I had to do anything.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
I want to keep my discpline up and want to achieve a lot of Freeletics-workouts and challenges.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
Eat healty.
Never give up or quit.
Try to train with some one.
Sleep enough.
Keep in mind that you are doing this for yourself - you want to be better than the average.
Set goals and achieve them, step by step.

His Youtube video is amazing.....

Thank you so much Dennis for sharing your new Freeletics passion and thanks for your determination as it's people like you that keep me so motivated. Keep up the great work! You can follow Dennis on his Facebook.com/DennisBorschig page.

Weight loss story on Transformation Tuesday with Dani Stevens

Yes you heard right! It's me. My turn to submit my transformation to come!!! Ha! This is me currently on the left hand and side and I will then post the outcome of my Freeletics training program. I am supposed to be on Week 3 so I need to get back into it this week. I feel a little fatigued from my Sydney Ride To Conquer Cancer, so I will start my workout tomorrow.

I am currently wanting to take my body to the next level. Those that have been following me know that winter has put on a few kilo's and I am feeling fluffy and out of shape. No tone or muscle definition. So I want to see that change over the next 3 months.

For those that still haven't registered, please join me CLICK HERE.

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I am 39 years old with 4 children under the ages of 8. I started my fitness journey after baby number 2 early 2008 and discovered the Fit Yummy Mummy program (click here for my all transformations) and now I am wanting to take it to the next level with Freeletics

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
Even though Mum made home cooked meals, Dad was the primary shopaholic so we had a variety of pantry and snack foods in our cupboards from cheezels to Milo. I really cannot remember drinking water as a child. It was either fruit juice or fizzy drinks. I also remember heaps of lunch orders at school with those fatty donuts, pies, sausage rolls and hot dogs.
Things have changed dramatically in our snacks department. I avoid all those types I foods I just mentioned and especially having kids of our own now, we try and encourage water and fresh vegetables and fruits 80-90% of the time.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
No. I am not a sports person. Never played with a team. Well actually did one year when I was in year 7 but that was it. People are surprised when I tell them I don't play an actual sport, as I am so tall and they always assume I am either a basketball or netball player.
However I have recently joined a team, the Vision Crusaders so now I am a cyclist or am I a bike rider? I have no idea....
I love watching tennis, soccer and occasionally AFL footy.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
WOW I love so many things from movies and plays, healthy living and fitness, making a difference in the world and ultimately my beautiful family make me smile on a daily basis.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
When I knew I couldn't just eat and still appear thin looking. After giving birth to Oscar, the layers started to appear and clothes no longer could hide them. I didn't feel like me, so I knew I had to make a change.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
Finish my last Ride To Conquer Cancer in Adelaide with my amazing team mates. Continue my fitness and healthy journey and share that with the world. Build Fitness Food And Style to become a place where people come to for health and wellness resources. Also a place to grab super deals I get access to.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
Well to all my beautiful readers, you know the drill. We are the ones that can make the change. Exercise at least 3-4 times per week, eat healthy 80-90% and keep it real. If you eat a bad meal, don't beat yourself up. Just make it a right healthy meal next time. We are all human. One step at a time.
Always remember, I am here if ever you need me.

Much love and friendship,
XxDani

Weight loss story on Transformation Tuesday with Alexander Villena

I would have a smerk on my face as well if I had results like Alexander, how sensational does he look? As you all know I too have jumped on board with the Freeletics team and can't wait to share with you my 15 week transformation. That's all it took Alexander and how amazing does he look?

Read his new healthy journey and please leave your comments below.

Alexander Villena Freeletics 15 week transformation

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I am 25 years old. I started doing Freeletics in December 2012

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
I ate a lot of bad food. For example burgers and all kind of fried stuff. Another one of my addictons was sugar. I sweetened everything yoghurt, my cornflakes etc. Since i started my health journey last december I changed that completely. I stopped eating sugar, reduced my carb intake and started to eat low carb.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I play some soccer and from time to time some volleyball. But my favorite sport is Freeletics. It does not take that much time and the results are incredible.

I like to watch soccer some American football and Basketball.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
There are several: Obviously sports. Since i started doing it on a regular basis its hard to rest for one day :) Another passion are watching series like Breaking Bad or the Walking Dead. I smile when I go out with friends and whenever I see myself in the mirror because in order to get respect and love from others you gotta respect and love yourself.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
It was a video I saw on YouTube. Levents video. Saw it felt the same way and I wanted the same change he had !!

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
Get even fitter and stronger and finishing my bachelors degree in English and Spanish.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
Its not about the times when you feel good during a workout. Of course those times are great and you should enjoy them. But what really matters is to stand up and go workout when you don´t feel like it. Those are the decisive moments during a transformation ;) And of course Eat Clean !

Feel good Friday and Freeletics

WOW!!! What a week! Can I just say how intense our first week of Freeletics has been? I started last week with the x4 Aphrodite workouts for our last weeks challenge in September and now it's cranking and I had to do as many burpees and sit ups in 300 seconds. It was an intense 15 minute workout. Loved every minute of it even though I absolutely loathe burpees.

Nike rainbow runners with my Blackmilk Clothing sharky VIP leggins

Lucky I got my Nikes with rainbow shoelaces on for an unreal $4.99 from Target just to add a bit of colour to my black ensemble. Also to keep me motivated

Today I did the Freeletics burpees and sit up MAX workouts, here are my times;

Freeletics MAX workouts

I am pumped that I haven't missed my workouts this week and my food has been 80% okay. The other 20% have been some squares of chocolate, a craving for toast with nutella and heaps of macadamia nuts!!! I am seriously in love with those nuts. As much as they are good for you, too much of them isn't a good thing either.

Food

Breakfast has consisted of smoothies and fruit salads

Morning and afternoon snacks have been dips with crackers, fruit with yogurt or a protein drink.

Lunch have been salads or sandwiches and a big craving this week were my famous French Toast club sandwiches. They are the best!!!

Healthy French Toast Club Sandwiches

Method:

Mix eggs with a dash of your favourite milk or splash of water. Season with pepper and salt. Dip your bread (we use either wholemeal or wholegrain bread) and gently fry in olive oil until golden brown. Either eat as is or stack them up club sandwich style and fill with your favourite foods. We had lettuce, ham and cheese.

Dinners have been salad or steamed vegetables with chicken or beef, however on Monday we did the meatless Monday and enjoyed an array of fresh vegetables and salads. Yum!!!

What's on for your weekend? We have Run Ballarat so looking forward to another amazing event. If you missed me last year, you can read all about it here.

Workout Wednesday and reset your goals

Reseting my goals. Seriously I have dropped the ball this winter, I know...... 5kgs 11lbs isn't a big deal but that's when I get comfortable and just keep eating crapola, not exercising and before you know it!!! 20kgs later you are wondering how the heck you got here?

Are you ready to reset your goals? Here are a few simple things to remind us.

I will help you by listing what I will be eating and my exercise regime.

So breakfast is going to be purely based on goodness from now on like this amazing apple & strawberry crumble sprinkled with cinnamon.

Breakfast

Apple and strawberry crumble for breakfast

Morning and afternoon snacks will consist of fresh fruit and vegetables, protein based products such as yogurt and cottage cheese. Also for those busy days, a smoothie on the run is always a winner!

Can't forget my amazing 180 Nutrition protein drinks for pre and post workouts. I love the chocolate protein powder with a banana, walnuts, vanilla essence, your choice of milk (or you can use water) and I add some oats to fill me up even more. Simply delish.

Smoothie

Lunch will depend if I am at home or I take it away. Here is a fresh lunch idea which you can have at home and also take with you if you are on the go!

Store in an airtight container and drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice when you are ready to eat. Grab whatever seasonal vegetables/salad you have in your fridge, wash, chop, grate and slice your vegetables. For added protein add either a tin of tuna/salmon, legumes or cooked meat.

For dinner, I like to eat light and not too heavy so I will either omit the heavy tummy feeling I get from eating ordinary pasta and replace it with vegetable ones or wholemeal pasta. Here is my zucchini pasta (simply use a vegetable peeler and slice your raw zucchini) served with bolognese sauce.

Dinner

As far as those nights that I feel like something sweet, I will either drink water or herbal teas to curb my cravings but if I am really desperate I will make these amazing peanut butter chocolate filled raspberries. Simply mix cacao powder with peanut butter.

So as you can see, we can do this together. We just need to plan and be prepared for those times we just grab a take away meal or a bad food choice. The main point to remember is you will eat what you buy. So please stock up your pantry and fridge with goodness.

Fitness

This is the other thing I am committing to. The Freeletics program is really intense so I want to ensure that I am getting enough sleep and fuelling my body. The next session I am doing is burpee max and between you and I, I loathe burpees but it's a total body workout so I know it's doing me good. For those that haven't registered or got their Freeletics guide CLICK HERE

We can also track one another on the app on iTunes so come find me and please join our 15 week transformation challenge. I will post my before pics ASAP to give me motivation not to give up over these next 15 weeks.

Please list your goals below as we strive to get back on track.
