Fitness Transformation Tuesday story with Matt Weiss

  • Hey everyone my name is Matt Weiss and I am 22 years old. I started my transformation journey July 2011. I weighted 212lbs and had 21% body fat. I was very unhappy with the way my physique looked and I wanted to make a change. I am a college baseball player so I wanted to improve my athletic ability by getting more physically fit. I started working out 5-6 times a week and started to eat healthier. Diet was a huge part of my transformation. I would always lift weights before but my diet was terrible and I never saw good results. Once I tightened up my diet my weight andbody fat percentage just started to melt off. Now I weigh 182lbs with 5% body fat. I am so glad that I made the change become healthier and I will continue to improve my physique daily.
  • Growing up I use to eat tons of junk food. Foods very high in carbs and unhealthy fats. Stuff like McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Hardees were places I enjoyed eating. In high school me and my buddies would go out then get fast food late at night. I didn't think anything of it but then I started to know a change in my body. I found myself being tired a lot. When I got to college I ate the cafeteria food. They had buffet style which I loved. I would get pizza, fries, soda, etc. This is how most college kids ate so I didn't think anything of it, plus I enjoyed eating like this. A lot has changed since then with my diet. I know eat things like chicken, ground turkey, ground chicken, eggs, brown rice, oatmeal, almonds, etc. Now I am eating way less greasier foods. Diet is key if you are looking to transform your physique. You will never be able to out train a bad diet.
  • I play college baseball player.
  • I love hanging out with my friends and family. I also enjoy helping people out with diet and workout plans through my online personal training. Something that makes me smile is when me and my family are all together. Family time is very special to me.
  • Well freshman year I played baseball at Arkansas State. Everytime we did conditioning I would always finish last and be gasping for air. It would make me so mad because I was giving it my all and I still would finish pretty much last. I ended up redshirting their and when I had my going away meeting the coach told me if I didn't come back next year in shape then I wouldn't play. This made me so angry! I ended up not returning to Arkansas State. So I would say my coach their telling me that I needed to come in the next year in better shape. I am actually very thankful that he said that to me because that is what truly sparked my lifestyle change.
  • Since I have transformed my physique a lot of doors have opened for me. I am officially a sponsored athlete with the best supplement company in the world (Inner Armour). I plan to start doing fitness modeling and men's physique competitions also. Right now I am a semi-finalist for the bodybuilding.com bodyspace spokesmodel competition. I really hope that I make the finals and compete for the title in LA.
  • Something that I want everyone to know is that never listen to negativity. During my transformation process I had friends always trying to get me to go out and drink. Also sometimes even my family would give me a hard to because of the way I was eating. Stick to a plan and keep fighting through it, because in the end you will come out a champion.

Fitness Transformation Tuesday with Mary Maxwell

So many amazing stories land in my inbox on a weekly basis. This one brought tears to my eyes. After such a tragic childhood Mary has found her happiness and a reason to smile. Here's a totally inspirational story to end Transformation Tuesday in 2013.

Let me introduce you to beautiful Mary Maxwell.

Mary loses over 68kgs - 148lbs

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to dates?

My name is Mary and I am 22 years old. My life has been filled with many memorable dates but none as memorable as September 10, 2012. Let me start from the beginning. After struggling with my weight my whole life I decided a year ago it was time to change my ways. After both of my parents dying when I was an infant; my father from terminal cancer and my mother from a heart attack, I was adopted. At age 12 my adopted father died and I fell into a huge depression. Food was my best friend and also my worst enemy. At the age of 19 I weighed in at 315lbs - 140kgs! I decided after being on diets my whole life and trying to lose weight naturally, I knew I needed to get some help. On September 10, 2012 I underwent Gastric Bypass surgery. It was a very tough decision but after realising that I was not able to do it with diet and exercise alone, I needed a tool to help. The first year of my journey was very tough. I was in and out of the hospital 3 times in 9 months due to serious health complications from the surgery. In 9 months I had 3 major surgeries to fix my stomach from complications. It was a hard road but I would do it all over again in a heart beat. I knew at the beginning that I could lose my life from the surgery but I knew I could lose my life from obesity also. I knew I would much rather risk my life trying to save it that to do nothing at all. Today, 15 months after I stated my journey, I now weigh 160lbs - 72kgs. I went from a size 26 pants to an 8. 4x shirts to a medium! I have now been able to live my life to the fullest and have no regrets whatsoever!

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?

As a child I was very depressed due to my father passing away. Food became my only friend. I would always be sneaking food and eating the worst way possible. I was never a sweets eater, but if you put a medium pizza in front of me, I could finish it in a half hour! Now, I have come to realize that food is not a replacement for other stress-relieving activities such as reading, exercising, or journaling.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?

I played sports all through middle school and high school. I was on the swim team for 3 years and played softball for 8 years, including varsity.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?

My interests are spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy listening to music and dancing. My passion in life is children. I am in school to be a teacher and am planning to move to Thailand within the next year to teach over there. Many things make me smile, but the thing that makes me smile most of all is life! I am so happy to be alive and to be able to experience new adventures I could never do before, when my weight was holding me back!

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?

I was getting older and realising how much passion I had for living. I knew that my mother had died young from a heart attack and my aunt who was 26 died from a heart attack due to her obesity. I did not want to end up like my family.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?

I hope to hit my fitness goal which is to run a 10k. I also would like to reach the proper BMI for my height.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?

No matter what life throws at you, keep pushing. Do not fall into the traps of society. It is not about your weight, it is about your health. Do it for YOU and no one else. Stick to it because your future self will thank you!!

Weight loss story on Transformation Tuesdays with Dennis Börschig

You all know how much I am loving the Freeletics program. Week 4 has started for me and I am loving the new workout challenges. However I did miss out on week 3 as I was totally exhausted from my Sydney Ride To Conquer Cancer. I'm having some hip tendon issues, so seeing a chiro this week.

There are some of us that want to lose the weight but there are those that simply need to maintain what they have. Dennis has always been an athletic kinda guy and played soccer but he WANTED MORE. Take a look at his 15 week Freeletics transformation.

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I'm 27 years old, played soccer for 24 years now. Went to the gym 1-2 times a week. Started Freeletics 17 weeks ago with great results.

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
As kid I used to eat very healthy food. I had always good meat, vegetables, salad and healthy carbs. As young adult (when I started to live alone) I ate a lot of fast-food. After my skin problems I changed my kind of food completely again. Only healthy food - completely.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I play soccer and watch soccer.. Don't watch that often TV.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
I'm very interested in the new sport called Freeletics.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
My psoriasis changed my life completely.. I never had problems with my weight, my skin, my self-confidence or other things. This diagnostic and complaint changed my life. I had to do anything.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
I want to keep my discpline up and want to achieve a lot of Freeletics-workouts and challenges.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
Eat healty.
Never give up or quit.
Try to train with some one.
Sleep enough.
Keep in mind that you are doing this for yourself - you want to be better than the average.
Set goals and achieve them, step by step.

His Youtube video is amazing.....

Thank you so much Dennis for sharing your new Freeletics passion and thanks for your determination as it's people like you that keep me so motivated. Keep up the great work! You can follow Dennis on his Facebook.com/DennisBorschig page.

Weight loss story on Transformation Tuesday with Alexander Villena

I would have a smerk on my face as well if I had results like Alexander, how sensational does he look? As you all know I too have jumped on board with the Freeletics team and can't wait to share with you my 15 week transformation. That's all it took Alexander and how amazing does he look?

Read his new healthy journey and please leave your comments below.

Alexander Villena Freeletics 15 week transformation

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I am 25 years old. I started doing Freeletics in December 2012

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
I ate a lot of bad food. For example burgers and all kind of fried stuff. Another one of my addictons was sugar. I sweetened everything yoghurt, my cornflakes etc. Since i started my health journey last december I changed that completely. I stopped eating sugar, reduced my carb intake and started to eat low carb.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I play some soccer and from time to time some volleyball. But my favorite sport is Freeletics. It does not take that much time and the results are incredible.

I like to watch soccer some American football and Basketball.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
There are several: Obviously sports. Since i started doing it on a regular basis its hard to rest for one day :) Another passion are watching series like Breaking Bad or the Walking Dead. I smile when I go out with friends and whenever I see myself in the mirror because in order to get respect and love from others you gotta respect and love yourself.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
It was a video I saw on YouTube. Levents video. Saw it felt the same way and I wanted the same change he had !!

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
Get even fitter and stronger and finishing my bachelors degree in English and Spanish.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
Its not about the times when you feel good during a workout. Of course those times are great and you should enjoy them. But what really matters is to stand up and go workout when you don´t feel like it. Those are the decisive moments during a transformation ;) And of course Eat Clean !
