Teens who are off to college need to understand the dangers of binge drinking.

Binge drinking can cause a person to suffer from mood swings or aggressive behavior. The alcohol can impede the function of the brain, so individuals will not be thinking clearly. The symptoms of binge drinking can continue even after a student stops consuming the alcohol. Individuals could experience vomiting, and it is possible for them to choke while throwing up.

In addition, binge drinking can cause the body temperature to drop, and it could lead to seizures. The student could have problems with coordination, and he could experience slow or heavy breathing.

In many cases, students do not realize that they have consumed a significant amount of alcohol. They get caught up in the moment, so they lose track of how many drinks they have had. They feel as if they are in control of the situation when in fact, they have no control. If a student experiences alcohol poisoning, emergency personnel should be called immediately.
