Sports and fitness have always been a part of my life. I love the way a healthy lifestyle makes me feel and I enjoy helping others achieve their personal fitness goals. I spend my leisure time riding my road and mountain bikes, running trails, and playing a variety of sports, as well as helping my two kids, ages 14 and 16, do the same.
I am proud to be an Advocate for the Juvenile Diabete Research Foundation (http://www.jdrf.org/), actively working on the political front to make the lives of diabetics better.
I am also an AYSO Regional Soccer Referee and coached youth soccer for several years. I played competitive soccer in the 1970s and 80s, raced mountain bikes semi-pro in the 1990s, and competed in several marathons in the 90s and 2000s, including two Boston Marathons. Today I spend most of my time riding my road bike and I rode my first century in 2008. I also enjoy water sports, including boating and kayaking.
